XP OS is installed, RDC is installed...

BUT! RDC is simply the Terminal Services Client?!

How do I make the machine a host that will allow me to connect to it over
the internet so I can control the keyboard and mouse of that computer? Just
like pcAnywhere, which is pretty much what I was told XP will allow me to
do!

Please help!

Right Click on My Computer, select the Properties option. Click on
the Remote Tab and enable Remote Desktop...

Then you connect to your computer via IP address or name.

Hey that's great... ok...

One more question...

I knwo ho wit works at my office, regarding IP addresses, but I am unsure
how I would be able to connect to my home computer which is on a Cable Modem
(no firewall)

Do I need to get a static IP address from my cable company?

Thanks! MB

Not necessarily... A Dynamic IP Address is fine if it doesn't change
too often.. You might want to consider a dynamic DNS service
(www.dyndns.org, www.noip.com, etc) which will make it easier to use
w/ a dynamic DNS.

Depends on if you are behind a router at home. If not. Just use the
Public IP on the computer.

If you are behind a router. You will need to forward Port 3389 to the
IP of the computr you wish to connect to. Then, use the public IP of the
router. Best to set the computer to use a Static IP rather then DHCP from
the router.
