hi,
From time to time an internet connection is made by
some entity on my pc, without my control. i noticed
that 'RasAuto' is active in the task manager during the
connection establishment. by googling i learn that it
stands for 'Remote Access Auto connection manager',
and acts as a service for windows Apps as well as
for 3rd party apps.
scanning my pc with several AV/spyware/malware tools
came with nothing.
the Events logs point to *unknown* user(??)
i have some questions:
1. is there any way to identify the user?
2. is there any way to avoid auto connection?
3. RasAutou is active at start-up. is it safe to disable it?

Hi Nass,
Thanks for the answer, but i'm a little confused with the results
of 'autoruns'. i'm not familiar with 'autoruns', and it's the 1st time
i run it. besides the huge amount of classes/apps/services in the
list, and the sub-division by tabs, it still looks to me as a *static*
list, like running 'msconfig', or am i wrong?
what do you mean by:
<quote>
"..and see which application is trying to access the Internet "...
</quote>
is there anything *dynamic* in this application that i should
notice on the list? should i concetrate only on the 'winsock providers'
tab apps or what? what exactly should i see?
please, can you be more specific with the quote above.
