Ranking Help

Hi,

I have a query that pulls data from a number of tables and complies a list
of people, what department they are in, and how much $ they have brought into
the company. I need to create a report that ranks each person in a
department by $.
How do i do this? I am VERY new to Access so please be detailed.

For example...
Dept 1
Sue, $900
Dave, $800
Jane,$500
Dept 2
Andy, $600
Alice, $400
Mark, $200
 
Hi

You can use the grouping option on the report to group 1st by Dept and then
by amount. (sorry don't know the field names)

Insert a group header for the Dept and place the field in this header area.
Place the Name and amount fields in the details section.

You can add a footer to the dept group if you would like to show a dept total
