Rank Function - Ranking Array Size Limit

The rank function in Excel is unable to handle large ranking arrays; i.e.
higher than about 2500 entries in the search list.

No mention is made of a maximum number of search entries in the ranking
array in Excel Help for this function.

Is it possible to rank within lists of search entries greater than 2500?
 
Figured out the problem! It was a non-numerical entry in the search array
that threw the rank function off. The Rank function now appears to be working
normally.
