I keep getting a random rebooting problem as well but it comes with a window indicating a lsass.exe problem and is shutting down. It gives me a timer counting down from about a minute. I've tried upgrades for the Windows XP and additional security upgrades from Windows last night and it has only gotten worse because the computer shutdown halfway through the download process. I've tried running Norton Anti-Virus but the computer won't stay up long enough to run a scan. Any help would be appreciated since my computer is just a big paperweight at this point.

I'm having the same problem!!! It started about 3 days ago, but my system finally crashed yesterday and I had to reformat and reinstall...Now I'm getting windows that open and close randomly and freeze my mouse for 20 seconds or so. I've also installed all the security updates. Help!!!

That's about when my problems started. Norton Anti VIrus kicked in about that time and blocked out several virus'. I'm wondering of one got through.

Numerous users are reporting the same problem, Looks like
there is a new fairly viscous virus out there. What I've
been suggesting is booting from a rescue disk, (norton
lets you create one somewhere i believe) and running a
virus-scanner before windows starts.

Sorry you guys had the problem.

I would also try Start>Run.. at the command line type
SFC /scanonce
and then reboot your computer.
