Random crashes?

I have been recently experiencing random crashes when using my PC. I tried
obtaining the latest drivers for my hardware and even formatted my hard drive
and reinstalled WinXP, but I still get the crashes. The monitor just goes
black and the keyboard does not respond anymore, while the CPU is still on
when it crashes.
Is there something wrong with it or does the PC just doesn't like me?

Sounds like a hardware issue. How old is this machine? What's the last
hardware related thing you've done to it?
