=rand() not working in Word 2007?

For some reason =rand() doesn't work with our new Word 2007 install. Does
anyone know why?

As in previous versions, the AutoCorrect option for replacing text as you
type must be turned on.
In Word 2007, the AutoCorrect options hide behind the Office pizza on the
top left, then "Word options" at the bottom, then "Advanced" (top).
