Alan,

You can add up to 4GB in total (your motherboard hardware permitting) to
Windows XP Home and Windows XP Professional - all of it will be used. There
is no cut-off point where more RAM becomes a "waste"

Hello!
There is no easier or more inexpensive way to give your
system a performance boost than by increasing its memory to
as close to the motherboard RAM limits as possible.XP is
able to utilize RAM in excess of 512MB more efficiently
than Windows 9x or Me.Best way to determine is to go for a
memory test,here:-

Yes!Alan!
Windows XP as well as Windows 2000 Can support up to 4 GB
RAM,depending upon the motherboard support.

It depends on what you're doing. If you work with large graphics files, for
instance, more memory would probably be helpful. If you just do standard
computer stuff, what you have now may be enough. Your motherboard manual should
tell you how much RAM your system can handle.

BTW, what kind of RAM/slot setup do you have that permits a combination to get
you to 448MB and still allow room for more? 256 + 128 + 64 + an empty?
