I have a problem where my system is running with 256 RAM
when i know i have 512 RAM installed on my PC. I just
finished reformatting my computer(didnt help). I cant
afford to send it to be repaired, and my manufacturer
doesnt wanna help me otherwise. please if anyone can
help or explain what i can do to reset my system
configuration or anything i can do to get my system to
function properly i would greatly appreciate it.

thanks,
Danny

If you have a hardware problem, reformatting - a solution for a software
problem - makes no difference.

Open the case and reseat both RAM modules. One of them may not be correctly
inserted in its slot.

Also keep this mind: All the RAM in your system must have identical
characteristics.

if by resetting the modules simply means taking the RAM
cards out and replacing them back in the banks, ive
alread done it. otherwise could you explain to me how i
would go about resetting the modules. thanks agian, i
really apreciate this.

Update your BIOS to the lastest and greatest. Then go
into your BIOS and look for a factory default setting.
Reboot.

Also, have you tried different banks? Have you tried with
just one mem stick in different banks?

I have tried and they both work independently. however
after i reformatted the computer wont start unless both
RAM cards are in. I wanna try the BIOS thing but i dont
know how to access it or update it, could you please
explain. Thanks

Danny

Go to your motherboard's manufacturer sight and find your
model board. D/L the update (sometimes you will need 1
floppy disk to do the update). Follow the update
procedures from the manufacturer sight.

ive updated my bios but still my RAM is not right.
please tell me theres something more i can do.
