Hello, I'm newbie and i have a problem with the software in object. My XPe
works on a compact flash and I need to create a virtual partition to share in
a network. I would like to use arsoft's product, but when I install it, I can
see it in the explorer windows but i can't access to it. How can I understand
if I missing some essential files in my XPe image ???

Thank you

Thank you KM !! Yes I included FAT component in my image, but it didn't work.
At least I finded another virtual ram disk in the net and it works. But now I
have a problem with a shared drive. Dos client Pc saves some data in my XPe
sharing drive. I have used net config wizard to configure my networks (no
domain and static IP addresses), I enabled file sharing and all works fine,
but from yesterday
dos client never access to shared drives because it wants a password. I
don't understand why. Exscuse for my bad english, Can you help me ?

Andrea,

You would need to give us some more info about your problems if you want a help.

By Dos client PC - do you mean MS DOS running on a PC?
Do you see the same issue accessing a XP Pro machine (over NetBEUI?) from the same DOS client?
How do you use the share? Show us the exact commands please.

Yes, I have an application running on ms dos OS with network card NE2000
compatible. I installed ms client and I ping with XPE pc. I use tcp/ip
protocol and it work.

No, it works fine. Besides before yesterday it still worked fine on XPe!

I hope to make myself understood: In the property of "My computer" I change
name and workgroup (start wizard). Next in the folder options i enabled "Use
simple sharing ...". Then I right click on my drive, I selected tab "sharing"
and I click on "if you understood ....". Start a new wizard and it ask my
type of network, if there's a internet connection, name of pc and workgroup
etc..... Then in the "sharing" appeared two options: "Share this folder on
the network" and "allow network users to change my files". I check togheter
and then, before yersterday, it worked fine.

Andrea,

Last time I worked with MS DOS Network Client many, many years ago.. I don't recall all the details now.

GUI stuff (wizards, etc.) usually does not help you much with troubleshooting network problems.
About the command I was asking for what you do on the DOS client.
Do you use net use command? Why don't you want to type a password?

Also, set "ForceGuest" value of [HKLM\SYSTEM\FBA\RegMigrate\HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa] key to "1". (at runtime or in
your Configuration under "File Sharing" component's registry section).

You may also want to post the question to a network newsgroup.

Hello Km,
in the dos client I use net shell, but it works fine, I'm sure. Now I
don't know why, but I check your suggest registry key and I didn't find it .
Then I setted it and all works fine. I have to investegate because the key
probably was erased ande wizard didn't set it!!!

Thank you very much
