I was wondering if I could use this ram in my computer

PC2100R-25330-C3 ECC

Right now, I have an open slot, and my other memory stick is 512 mb, PC2100

It should work, but I am not quite sure about the ECC

I thought that memory used in home computers are not supposed to have ECC in
it

Also, what does this mean

Error checking: Non-parity

Check your mainboard manual or use Crucial's memory
configurer at http://www.crucial.com to find out whether
your mainboard will support that ECC module. If so, replace
the existing module with the ECC module and add another ECC
module. A white paper I've recently found that eas published
last January indicates that a PC with 512MB of memory running
24 hours a day will sustain a memory error on an average of
about every 10 days. See:
http://www.tezzaron.com/about/papers/Soft Errors 1_1 secure.pdf ,
Appendix B, Calculations, on page 6. Each memory error stands a chance
of causing your computer to crash, or worse yet, corrupting a program
or data on your hard drive.

It is absolutely essential that any new RAM module(s) be fully
compatible with both the motherboard and/or any other RAM module(s)
already in the system. Additionally, there are sometimes jumper
switches on older motherboards that need to be reset for new RAM
configurations. Consult your motherboard's manual or the
manufacturer's web site for specific instructions and compatibility
requirements.

If you cannot lay your hands upon the computer's manual and the
manufacturer doesn't provide a support web site, you can use these
utilities to help determine the correct type of RAM needed:

Also, Crucial Memory's web site (www.crucial.com) has a database
to help to find the right RAM for your specific make and model
computer and/or motherboard.
