I just got a brand new PC and I have a previously puchased xp pro sp1
I checked everything in the Bios menu and it is fine. I am running sata-raid
1.
scince the pc is new the hard-drives have nothing on them so i put in the cd
and everything opens up then error "NO HARD DISK FOUND".

Plz Help

Are you sure you put the right jumper configuration?
There are three types of jumper settings for every IDE storage drive such as
CD-ROM and Hard DISK.
1-Master
2-Slave
3-Cable Select

Ya they are both on master in the Sata port on motherboard and the jumper is
master for both.

Then it may be useful for you to try some disk manager software.
Or you can use Windows 98 bootable disk to create partitions in your new
hard drive.
I thought the Windows 98 bootable disk is best for creating partitions on
new hard drive.

You need to have the manufacturers "RAID" drivers on floppy and during the
early portion of WinXP Setup (Blue Screen/White Text) hit <F6> to select and
load the drivers - there XP will recognize the disk(s).

Also with regards to BIOS setup, one may need to identify the RAID
environment etc.

Just check the RAID supplement to the Motherboared [if it's on board RAID
controoler] or the RAID controller manual if it's a PCI adapter RAID
controller.

Whatever the problem, no operating system will see a drive if BIOS hasn't
recognised and identified it first.
