Apples and oranges - won't matter. However, unless I'm mistaken, you can't
use software RAID on a workstation OS??

Correct. However a lot of even lower priced motherboards come with it these days,
though they are IDE implementations for the most part. Personally, for consumer
market I would suggest using something like Norton Systemworks which comes with a
really great implementation of Ghost that does ntfs and can write images to bootable
cdroms and dvds. Of course as you know, mirroring will not protect from viruses,
hacking, etc. --- Steve

Virus protection will probably work with RAID. However, backup programs
sometimes have issues with RAID. For example, if you check the Symnatec
support site, you will find that GHOST does not officially support RAID.
However, it does work for some hardware RAID configurations. If you opt for
RAID, do yourself a favor and test your backup software before you add a lot
of programs or data. Also, remember that just because you can make a backup
with a program does not mean that you can do a restore with the same
program. Test the software!

I would like to use RAID 1 configuration. I want to know the compatibility
with the programs like norton antivirus .
