Raid 5 / dynamic disk unable to import

I have a Dell 745N storage device in which one of the raided volumes
failed due to a hdd failure. The hdd was replaced and the raid rebuilt
itself (hardware raid), but some smart guy went into the controller
setup and re-initialized the volume. What I suspect happened was that
the controller deleted the raid information from the volumes, so win is
now seeing that volume as a foreign dynamic disk, but unable to import
it due to the loss of the configuration copies.
Below is the corresponding entry in the event log:

"INTERNAL Error - The disk group contains no valid configuration copies
(C10000B6)."

Any help is greatly appreciated,
Thx,
C

Google offline again?

Not really, just thought you're trying to say something helpful...

Nah.
You obviously wouldn't recognize 'something helpful' even if it bit you in the nose.
