race odds

I am trying to display the "odds on" for betting on pre run races a
£1.00 per bet.

I already know what the winnings are:
For example if the winnings are £2.00 in cell C82 then the odd will b
2/1. But what is the calculation and layout to display this in cel
C83?

To go one step further a £2.50 will will be 5/2 (how is it calculated?
even in the format of 5.2 will do!!

At the races I use to go to, the minimum bet was $2, and the "Payoff" at
2to1 was $6 which included your original $2 back plus $4 winings........so
with the bet in A1 and the "Payouff" in B1, the odds could be calculated in
C1 as =(B1-A1)/A1...........but at the tracks I went to, they always posted
the odds......we had to figure out the payoffs.

FYI.....3to2=1.5to1, pays $5 for a $2 bet
......5to2=2.5to1, pays $7 for a $2 bet
......7to2=3.5to1, pays $9 for a $2 bet

I hope you can do the conversion from Dollars......

here is my formula - i've got it.

=FLOOR(F82*2,1)/2+(-D3)&" to "&"1"

and it works a treat
