Hi: I am trying to get the remote assistance feature to
work before trying it with my mother. I created a file
for remote assistance and saved it as instructed. Then I
right clicked it and selected "send to mail recipient",
My email program opened up and I tyed in my own Hotmail
address (I use my ISP server most of the time). I went to
my Hotmail account and viewed the email. I clicked the
file listed under attachment. It was scanned by McAfee
for virus's. Next, a File Download window opened up. I
selected "open" and it couldn't open. It asked me if I
wanted to open with the appropriate program and I sais
yes. It couldn't do it. All I got was "File Type Unknown"
and a referral to CKNOW.com.
Is there someone who can help me. Is the problem because
I am sending to myself. I would assume that the
invitation should open up anyway. I have to get this
working so I can help my mother. She won't be able to
handle this.
I can try using the other techniques but she has AOL and
I read that this is the technique to use with AOL. Thank
you so very much. Ed
