Hi,
Just installed Quicktime 6, and everytime I try to run it, I get an error
message saying something like " Disk Missing please insert disk Harddrive/
(then a location)" . The errror cannot be removed from the screen and I need
to reboot. This only happens with quicktime.

Can anyone help, please.

Cheers
O.

This is the exact error message

"There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive
\Device\Harddisk4\DR5."
If I keep pressing continue it then keeps coming up for other Harddisk
numbers and DR numbers until it eventually plays. It then comes up with the
message again. At the moment it is unusable.

My system is Windows XP and my Hard Drive is named C, not any of the above
disk names.

Cheers
O.

What happens if you just open QuickTime? Don't double-click on a file
to play it in QuickTime. Don't select a file after loading QuickTime to
play it. Just load QuickTime. Do you get the error then? Have you
tried purging the MRU (most recently used) list in QuickTime (File ->
Open Recent -> Clear Menu)?

By the way, please configure your freebie version of AVG to *not* add
its spam signature to the end of your messages. Thanks.

I get it a lot as well, its a common fault with Quicktime. First, load
up MSCONFIG and make sure qttask is not running, if it is remove it
from Run section in Registry (use REgedit). That helps a lot.
