There is a site I go to to download ringtones for my cell phone. On this
site you can listen to the tone before you download it. At work, when I
preview the tone, it opens in IE with QuickTime however at home it opens and
plays the tone in winamp, the program I have associated with MP3 files. How
can I get my home machine to work like my computer at work? I looked at all
the available options in IE and QuickTime but have been unable to figure it
out.

TIA,
Rickey

Hi Rickey,

Change the association for MP3 files either via Tools/Folder Options/File
Types or the registry. Seems as though there would clearly be a setting via
QuickTime to do this...... Good luck!

Open the QuickTime icon in Control Panel. Choose BROWSER PLUG-IN, click
the MIMETYPE button and find the MP3 file type. Enable it, by checking
the box.

Now see if QT takes over that file type as a plug-in in I.E.
