QuickTime 7.16 in Vista: SLOW to load. Why?

Does QT load quickly for any of you using Vista? For me, it takes 7 or 8
seconds -- even with no video, just the player.

In XP, it was more like 1 or 2 seconds, as I recall, on the same machine. P4
3Ghz, 2GB RAM, Fast 7200rpm disk.

BTW, why isn't there a vista_apps newsgroup?
