Anything mimicking Quicken out there?

If you have the Java runtime (1.4.0 or newer) installed, you might look
at this jGnash Personal Finance:

Loaded it. I have too much stuff in Quicken to re-do it up to date and
it doesn't want to import it. Quicken has about 5 files on their backup
floppy.

Am I missing something?

Sorry Glenn, I can't help you there. My finances are intentionally kept
simple, so I've never needed any such software.

Just found this one:

http://www.paulwainwright.ukf.net/

Don't know if it does dollars though. There is an option described as:
"PWSMoney's Currency Symbol can also be set here. Choose from the combo
box list."

And they claim it uses QIF files.

*I was wrong*. I can export Quicken to a floppy in a single QIF format.

jgnash will then import it correctly.

My AntiVir Guard kicks in for three consecutive files out of my VB-6 files
for some reason every time I run it, I block them and nothing happens.
Don't know what is happening but may be a reason to dump it,

Good deal!

I used Antivir for a while when I was running ME, but after a while it
caused so many instability problems (especially when I installed it in a
relative's computer running W98SE) that I went back to AVG. I'd quit AVG
because I had a hard time finding the method for disabling automatic
updating and automatic scanning. They're buried, but once you know how
it really isn't a big deal.

I recommend AVG as the best freeware antivirus program. Others may
disagree, but I and those for whom I've installed it on their computers,
have had good luck with it.
