The wife is out of town for a while, so I'd like to set up a VPN between her
PC and and my PC. Does anyone have a site with a quick rundown on how to do
this?

Both are running XP Pro SP2. We both have routers between the PC's and the
cable internet connection.

Thanks!

I thought QuickVPN was only client to VPN end-point router? But then again I
really don't know. You might post to the Linksysinfo.org forums for help...

What do you want to do? If its simply an encrypted file access/transfer
function then a Secure Shell (SSH) connection may work equally as well. Here
are some links for help with that...

I meant a simple VPN, not a product named "QuickVPN" (tm).

: )

Just want to be able to map network drives across the VPN, share a printer.

The built-in Microsoft PPTP VPN server may also work. Use a *STRONG*
password. The only issue is if your behind a router. The router has to pass
GRE Protocol 47 traffic which can be problematic with some consumer grade
routers.

To test see the "PPTP Ping" and "VPN Traffic" sections on this page...

If that does not work for you the SSH method for accessing files/folders
works well, IMHO, plus its very secure. Personally sharing a printer from
across the country does not make a lot of sense to me...

I can confirm this works on the not-2MB-NVRAM Linksys routers, but AFAICT,
only when running the dd-wrt Linux distribution. http://www.dd-wrt.com/
