Quick Launch toolbar

I can't seem to get the Quick Launch toolbar to come back
up when I re-boot. Each time I have to click on the
taskbar, go to toolbars, and then click the Quick Launch
feature on.

How do I fix this - it must be pretty basic.

I've had the problem on a few other computers (XP home and pro) also and the
taskbar is not locked. The pro I assume could set a default for it but not
home.
