Check Quick Launch folder to make sure that there is a desktop.ini present.

I know that BlazeFind changed the following setting for one poster.
Verify this setting in the registry.
Start | Run | Type: regedit | OK
Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Userinit C:\Windows\System32\userinit.exe,
Do not forget to add the comma at the end.
Close the Registry Editor and reboot your computer.
