quick launch taskbar

I lost my desktop icon from the quick launch taskbar I
need help in restoring it.
 
Try this; r-click the task bar and choose properties. make sure that the
"show quick launch" button is checked.

Thanx JAX but I tried that and it still doesn't restore
the icon. I have 3 icons on the quick launch bar but
can't even find the icon for the desktop.
