Hans

I have installed a new terminal server and the quick
launch icons are constantly refreshed. These symptoms
occur on a client and also on the console.
Can i stop this ?

I'm not sure I understand what you are describing. Do you mean that
on the server, the icons on the quick launch toolbar keep repainting
again and again? And that this occurs both on the console of the
server and if you TS into the server?

What OS is the server running?

A few suggestions for places to look for information. I'm not sure
these are helpful as I am not sure I understand the problem.

Indeed, the icons are repainted constantly but they don't
change. So the Word icon stays the Word icon.
Yes, these symptoms occur both on the console and when a
user (in fact, every user) TS into the server.
I installed Windows 2000 Advanced Server.

This problem you are having sounds serious, but it is not TS related.
The experts on this newsgroup are not experts in the windows shell,
explorer.exe. Perhaps it would be best to repost this question at a
