I assume by file you mean folder...
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Quick Launch
username would be different depending who's profile is being used (who is
logged on)

I can't find quick launch or launch or quick on my C: drive anywhere.
Could it be called something else?
I'm talking about the icons that are in my taskbar for quick launch not I.E.

No, it is not called anything else.
Start - Run and paste this in:
(ensure it doesn't wrap at the space between Quick and Launch)
%userprofile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick

It is only under allusers and not my profile.
And under allusers quick launch is an empty folder.
I have searched all over----I don't see anything.
But I have 50 icons in my taskbar quick launch

Rightclick an icon, select Properties and look at the Location on the
General tab.
