1. How do I hide the "Networking Services" and "Other Network File and Print
Services" in the Windows Components list? I added hide to the NetOC line in
sysoc.inf but it didn't work.

2. Should I disable Automatic Updates (not the service) and manually update?

3. What fonts are most useless that I should delete?

4. How do I uninstall Outlook Express completely?

5. What are those hidden $NTUninstall folders in the Windows\ directory?

1.. You can't hide but you can uncheck them. You can delete them by
deleting their respective INF files, but not recommended.
2. Recommend automatic updates. Manual updates are most often
forgotten and that could cause serious problems at later dates.
3. Do Not delete any fonts. Many will be required as you later add
new programs and applications. Which may not run without them.
4. TopTechTips: Windows XP - Uninstall Outlook Express

5. Those $NTUninstall listings are Critical Updates or Hotfixes. Do not
delete them. You can delete the entry but uninstalling them could
put your PC out of business. You can also use the Windows Explorer
folder option to hide them (as hidden files).

BTW: By reading your post, it sounds like you are either trying to clean up
your harddrive or you are running out of space. Whichever, be carefull for
unchecked deletions could put you in jeopardy down the road.

What if I rename the .inf files?
What about the fonts that I can't even read?

I thought I uninstalled the windows messenger, but I can still find the
msmsgs.exe file, what's up with that?

And I am trying to clean everything I can find never used and never will be
used. I mean, "Other File and Print Services", come on, I don't even use UNIX.

(Sorry about that, I was going nuts.)

I guess I'll take the time to delete fonts I can't read.
But seriously though, which .inf file is the source of the "Networking
Services" and "Other Network File and Print Services" especially?
