after a fresh rebuild can you add a slave drive to a system and tell it
to be one logical drive combining with the current main drive. I.e. not
split them but have a seamless continuance of space for which the
operating system can utilise as the c:.

if so can anyone help me do this?

it can be done ...see this:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308424&sd=tech

Note: if one of your drives fails (or even develops a problem)...all data
may be lost...
so using a dynamic disc is not really a good idea
