I have a Dell Dimension whose warranty just expired. Now all of a
sudden, I can't log off and log on anymore without restarting.

If I log off, the logon screen will freeze and won't let me type in my
password (the password box is unresponsive), so the only way to get
back in is to restart...

I don't see any unusual startup items in msconfig. Does anyone have
any idea as to what's happening??

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Use SystemRestore to return your PC to a date just before
this problem started occurring.

That's Dell's way of saying you should have renewed your warranty or
else, buy a new machine from us again! HOoooo -hhahhahahhaaa

Always best to build your own PCs for that reason.

Just kidding. I would check their forums. You can use those for free.
