After looking over the patches, I find that I'm going to
need to install every one of them due to our different
setups here. Lucky me.

The question I have concerns Office XP and Visio 2000.
According to the documentation, I'm supposed to install
the patch for each specific software that is affected.

The Office XP patch is fine, no problem. But the patch
that is supposed to cover Visio 2000 is the same patch
for Office 97.

Am I then supposed to run both patches on those machines
that have both, and will that be causing an issue by
installing the Office 97 patch on an Office XP box? And
if so, does it make a difference in what order they get
installed?

Needless to say, I'm very leary of this.

Hi Bob,

The actual patched binary is the same for both Office XP
and Office 97. The installers are different due to
software requirements to ensure appropriate
registry/catalog files are updated etc.

You can run the Office 97 patch to update Visio2000, and
then the Office XP patch to update your Office software.

You might take a look at the Ohotfix.exe available in the
ORK at
http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/xp/journ/ohotfix.htm
for additional installation options.

Best of luck,
