I recently downloaded Rise of Nations from Microsoft.com.
When I tried to start playing it, an ERROR prompt appeared
and it said, " This video card is not supported for use
with this game. " What does this mean, and how can I fix
it? Thanks for your help!

What video card do you have? You can check by clicking start->run->"dxdiag"
and clicking on the display tab. You should get the latest drivers for you
video card and try the game again. If that doesnt' work, you might want to
check that your video card meets minimum system requirements for this game.

Thanks for the quick response Kevin.
Name of the Device is: S3 Graphics ProSavage DDR
Main Driver:s3gnb.dll
version:6.3.0010.1075
date: 06/03/2002
Does this make any sense to you?
Thanks, Dan

The S3 graphics "seemed" to have be dropped from the games by the
publishers. Most game publishers are concentrating on ATI and nVidia based
video cards.

That is a pretty old card. I don't believe it is supported anymore, nor do I
believe that card meets Rise of Nations minimum requirements. The only
suggestion I have besides getting a newer video card, is try to find some
newer drivers for this card on the web (notice the date on yours, over a
year old). So you could search "ProSavage drivers"..

I did find this post on the web:
http://www.driverforum.com/graphics4/5288.html

Thast up to you if you want to do that.

Hello,

You must update your video card to the latest drivers on
the manufacturer's website. I got the same error when I
downloaded the trial and according to Rise of Nation's
website, you must have the latest vid drivers installed
on your computer to play it. Seems it that graphic
intensive.
