If you can't un-check the read only box in properties, it's not an Access issue. It's a Windows permission problem.
For Windows issues, see one of the Windows newsgroups.
Windows XP all start with microsoft.public.windowsxp
Windows 2000 all start with microsoft.public.win2000
Windows ME all start with microsoft.public.windowsme
Windows 98 all start with microsoft.public.win98
Good luck.

Recently my husband and I reformatted our computer, backing everything up first. Well, I opened up my access file today and
it's opening as a read-only file! I tried going into properties and unchecking read-only, but it won't let me. Is there anything I
can do? A way I can resave it as a non-read only or copy and paste it into a whole new database or SOMEthing? It's hours and hours
and hours of work. I'd hate to have to start over.
