Am I correct in my observation that when I add a second hard drive, as a
"slave" the BIOS devides my available RAM equally between the two hard
drives? And if this is true, can I redistribute the RAM so the primary drive
has 80% of the RAM and the slave has 20%?

Milt,

RAM is not allocated to Hard Drives by either the BIOS or the OS. RAM
is physical memory and is independent of and unrelated to the number of
hard drives. If you wish, you can allocate different size page files to
your different Hard Drives, but there is probably no advantage to doing
so in most scenarios.

You're not correct. You get all the RAM whether you're accessing either
disk. How much is used would depend on what you're doing, not where
you're doing it.
