I am on a wireless home network with 4 users. Can other people on the
network browse the files on my computer? if so, is there a way to keep them
out? I am using XP Pro SP1

They can only browse your files if you've explicitly shared some of
your disks and folders.

In XP Pro SP1, an easy way to keep them out is to enable the Internet
Connection Firewall on your LAN connection. I've written a web site
with details:

Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp/ic_firewall.htm

If your computer has a firewall program installed (Norton, McAfee,
PC-Cillin, ZoneAlarm, etc), disable the Internet Connection Firewall
and configure the firewall program to block access.
