Question about CNAMEs

I have a domain that has approx 100 A records that all point to the same IP
address. Should I creating 1 host record and then 100 CNAMEs. Normally I
wouldn't care, but when I need to change the IP address I need to change all
100 of them, and I am guessing that if I use CNAMEs I would only need to
change 1 address. Is this correct.
