based on user defined criteria

like only show records where amount = x ect?

Bind the grid to a Dataview based on the table then set it's rowfilter
property

i need to filter it inside of the actual datagrid though
i am setting up a tree that will will have nodes that represent the values
in a column for instanance dates
and when the user clicks on a date in the tree it should only show records
that have that date ?
