Query only certain number of digits

Hello-
I am trying to run a query between two tables to match their tariff codes.
I am wondering if it is possible for Access to compare only the first six
digits of the tariff code in each table (they usually have 10 digits)?

I need to be able to find the mismatches based only on the first six digits,
and comparing the code in each table. I hope this makes sense. Can anyone
help?
