Query doesn't run in Access, but in Microsft Query

Hi!

I created an Access query trying to pull some data with about 8,000 lines
and 10 columns from our accounting database. The simple query collects data
from just one data file. Also, there is no criteria involved. However,
the Access query is not running or responding (It freezes!).

The same query I created in Excel Microsoft Query does work well and show
the result within 1 minute. I also create the same query in Crystal report.
It works well too.

I wonder if there is anything I should do to speed up the Access query.

uh you should post your sql statement maybe?

you should throw away crystal?

and forget about Excel.

'just one data file'

what do you mean.. a text file?
a database?

it doesn't freeze.

dont ever kill objects in task manager when it says 'not responding'

is the file on your local machine or across a network?
