I had the VBS/LoveLetter@MM virus and cleaned it off my
system but not before it got to approx. 1400 files of
mine. I try to clean them and am not able to. My only
option is to delete them, I guess. My question is:
A) Is it possible to clena them at all?
B) If I delete them, can I still use my programs that are
associated with those files?
C) If I reinstall XP, will the deleted files be replaced
and the rest of my programs be there unchanged.
D) Do I have to reinstall all my programs again, even
though it appears that my system is running okay?

Please respond, I need hlep in resolving this issue.
Thank you for your future support.

Hi Rita,

The loveletter virus overwrites image files with viral code. It is not
possible to save these and they should be deleted. Double-clicking an
infected file will reinfect your machine. Removing them should not affect
your ability to run software and create new image files. You should not need
to reinstall any programs unless the virus inhibited its use.
