When trying to log onto Google.com, i got a standard error stating that the
QHost virus has redirected my DNS request. I used both Trend Micro &
Symantec to scan for the virus, and both report "not found". If I use the
actual address , ie 216.239.37.99, i go straight to the google home page.
Apparently its a DNS conversion problem, but i have no idea how to fix it.
Any Suggestions?

When you load the page it should give you a Dir go to the
dir and delete the q host file that will solve you probs

John,
Check your HOSTS file ........
In some cases the QHosts trojan placed a copy in Windows\Help
and edited the Registry to point there.

CLOSE ! The hosts file had listings for about 25 different search engine
sites. Didnt read it all, but im guessing it said "cant go there".
Replaced the file with a known good one & voila! Back in business. This
file was in "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\......." i believe.
Thanks again.
John
