Is there anyway that XP could cause an HP laserjet III to stop printing data
from a Qbasic program.

I have been using Qbasic from within XP to run a Contract Bridge scoring
program with now problems. I have recently upgraded my Office software and
run various XP updates and, whilst I can't be sure, since then Qbasic no
longer prints.

If I boot from a Dos floppy I have the same problem. I also cannot print a
<.txt> file from the CMD prompt.

The printer is working fine when printing in normal XP mode, Word etc.

Any suggestions please.

TIA

David, thanks,

Sorry, but I'm not sure how to answer your question.

The printer has worked with Qbasic in the past. I have not manually reset
anything on the printer.

How is your printer configured.

What type of printer, how is it connected, what has happened between when it worked and stoped working, what does it say about in the printers properties.

David,

DOH

Who's a plonker then.

I had been messing with SISoftware Sandra. It suggested altering the printer
settings.

I changed to an NT EMF setting. Gone back to RAW and guess what, it's now
working.

Many thanks for your help, I might never have solved the problem.

What are the 2 options modprint & winprint ??

What a relief !!!!!!!!!

Winprint is normal print. Don't know about modprint. I loathe printers.

I share your disdain. I thought we would have been paperless for at least a
decade by now.
