verify the integrity of the file Update.inf Make sure the
cryptographic service is running properly on
this computer. )

BUT there's one last thing : how do I download the
Q817287 update from the windows update website ????

What version of Cryptsvc.dll do you have now? Q817287 would update you to
v5.1.2600.1190. Might you already have it installed?

(I hope you'll know)

Windows Update should present it for you to install. To assure a clean
install, your anti-virus application should be disabled and all other
running processes closed before going to Windows Update and when
downloading/installing from any MS page.

However, that being said, have you already successfully installed WinXP-SP1?
Check your Windows Update history for errors in Windows Update.log and
iuhist.xml (both are files on your machine).

See this recent and related thread in Windows Update newsgroup
(microsoft.public.windowsupdate): http://snipurl.com/3nxv

You see, I havent installed succesfully SP1 for win xp
pro, because of that problem. And this file doesnt appear
in windows update, how can I find it..???

Or in the worst case, can you send it to me or something ?

I'll try again and again, but I'm sure it wont work....
anyways...
