I am trying to get WPA encryption working for my Linksys wireless g
card/router. I am having trouble installing the Q815485 patch for
adding WPA capability to Windows XP Home Ed. I have tried isntalling
both the independent patch download, as well as the Windows Update patch
(both are the same, I assume). The patch appears to install normally,
but in Add/Remove Programs, there is no listing for the installed patch.
In the properties for the access point, which is seen just fine, there
is no option under "Data encryption" to select WPA (just WEP).

The router and card work fine with no encryption. Also, using the same
drivers, I am able to get the WPA encryption to work in Linux. Has
anyone else seen this problem, and is there a fix for it?

Thanks,
Dan

No responses yet. And I thought MS was "serious" about security.
