Using Access 2000.

First of all, there doesn't seem to be a data access page
group. Am I just overlooking it, or is there a reason
there's no data access page group. Has microsoft decided
not to continue this program? DAPs look like they'd be
very useful for my reporting needs.

Anyway, newbie question. I want to create a pivot table
for our intranet site. I'm having trouble connecting the
webpage to the underlying data. Exactly how do I point to
the source?

The webpage is
http://intranet.mycompany.com/dept1/report1.htm

The database can be found at
http://intranet.mycompany.com/dept1/mydatabase.mdb

How do I get report1.htm to "see" the database
mydatabase.mdb. When I set the source as "mydatabase.mdb",
I get an error "Could not find file C:\documents and
settings\markd\desktop\mydatabase.mdb"

Thanks!

Actually there is a DAP group. It is
microsoft.public.access.dataaccess.pages.

DAPs do have their issues. Mostly connection and security related.

If your html page and database are not in the same directory, you need to
specify the complete path to the database in data source section of the
connection string

If this doesn't get you going, I'd post to the DAP group.

Good luck.
