Hello,
Is there any free product like “Folder Guard†to protect folder and files in
it with a password?
Thanks,
Jim.

Yes, its called NTFS permissions. It's free because it is part of the OS.

In that case then something here might help:

You might want to try an OTFE (on-the-fly-encryption) product. It
works a bit differently than a folder in that it mounts an encrypted
container file as if it were a disk and anything read or written to
this virtual disk is encrypted. The disk is only mounted with a
password and when not mounted it is encrypted with industrial-strength
encryption. When mounted it is accessed freely like any other disk on
your system. It's a great and secure way to carve out a personal area
on a shared computer. A freeware OTFE product called "Truecrypt" is
available at:

JOhn,
This is really good tool, but when I mount and log off, and log back in with
adnother admin user, it seems the disk is still mounted. Can I make it valid
only for one user. I do not want other admins to see the file in the mounted
area?

According to the manual:
---------
Note that switching users or logging off under Windows XP/2000/2003
does not dismount a successfully mounted TrueCrypt volume. Also note
that when you exit the TrueCrypt application, the TrueCrypt driver
continues working and no TrueCrypt volume is dismounted.
---------

For your situation, you must remember to bring up the TrueCrypt
application and manually dismount any volumes you don't want to keep
mounted before you log out (or get into the habit of rebooting the
machine each time you logout). There are other (not freeware) programs
that may better address this concern. DriveCrypt or BestCrypt are
candidates you may want to look into...
