Hi

Could anybody give me advice on which charting package I should buy i.e.
which packages available are the best in your opinion?

Ones I have heard of are: chartfx, dundas chart and componentone chart.

Thanks in advance

Geoff

They are all quite similar in terms of the features that they offer.

Do you have something specifically in mind that you need to achieve that you
could tell us about? It might help others address the specifics.

Err, unfortunately not. I have no specific need in mind because the projects
I'm working on are so diverse. I guess there probably isn't an easy answer
to my question. ChartFX does look very good though!

Geoff

Well yes, ChartFX is a good all rounder. I used it a while back in a rich
windows app and it was great; fast, easy to use and setup, easy to get data
in - all round a pleasant experience.

I remember the Visual Basic .NET Resource Kit contains two charting packages
for free, which will make it easier to test them:

Visual Basic .NET Resource Kit
<URL:http://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/vbrkit/>

Includes the following chart components:

ComponentOne Chart for .NET
<URL:http://www.componentone.com/products.aspx?ProductCode=1&ProductID=21>

Dundas Chart for .NET
<URL:http://www.dundas.com/Charting/Gallery/Gallery.aspx>

Thanks Herfried and Pete

Hi Hertfied

With regards to the component one chart that is given away free in the
resource kit, are there restrictions in using it? That is, if it is given
away for free - what's the catch???
