Putting phrase SAMPLE across a contract

I want to put in about arial 36 font a slanted phrase SAMPLE, indicating
that this document is not legal.
 
I did this same thing using Word Art in Header/Footer. Not sure what version
of Word you are using but I was using Word 2000. View Header/Footer, then
insert Word Art. You can position it anywhere on the page, not just at the
top and bottom.

G'Day Jim,

Format>Background
Click "Printed Watermark"
Check "Text watermark"
Type in the "Text:" you would like
For now, leave "Font:", "Size", "Color:"
Layout: check "Diagonal".........

Now do it all again the way YOU would like!

What you are looking for is a watermark. If you have Word 2002 or 2003, use
Format | Background | Printed Watermark. For earlier versions, see “HOW TO:
