Outlook 2000, windows 2000, exchange 2000 mailbox (mapi)

How should I go about putting back the contents of an archive file (pst)? Is
there a one step automated way in Outlook or would I have to just open the
archive and manually copy the items back to their original locations?

any input is appreciated. Thanks.

File/Import within Outlook will probably do the trick - careful with
the overwrite options...

JeffG's advice is not the best solution because importing can lose data.
The better choice would be File>Open>Personal Folders File, browse to the
achibe PST, select it, and click OK. You can then move things around
however you think best.

Importing only loses corrupted data, or data that causes conflicts,
correct?

Or are you saying that any import may lose any data, corrupt or not?

Incorrect.

What gets lost are links between items, like Contact and Calendar items.
Time/date stamps can also change.
