My deleted Email messages are still showing up on my inbox list even after I
have selected "Purge Deleted Messages" from the edit menu - this just started
happening a few days ago - and it was working before - any suggestions on
what might have happened and how to get rid of them? Thanks, jrd

Not sure which OL you are using but you should be able to set it to empty
your Deleted Items folder when you close the program.

I have Outlook 2003 that came from the MS Office Small Business Edition -
also Windows XP Home Edition v5.1 - In OL I have used the Tools>Empty
'Deleted Items' Folder, closed OL, re-opened it, and done this now for
several days. The Emails still show with the cross-through on each line and
an "x" mark beside the envelope picture on each line. As I said in an
earlier Email, this problem just started - I've been using this program and
computer with no problem of this sort for over a year - Should I re-install
Outlook? Thanks for your help, JRD

I think what has happened here is that you've downloaded just the message
headers. And when you delete message headers it causes a line across it with
the text greyed out and an icon with the "x" besides it.

You'll need to click on Tools - Send/Recieve - Work with headers - Process
marked headers from - All Accounts [or your specified account].

Unless I am wrong and that these emails are in your Deleted Items folder...
