This happens in Word and Excel (Office XP 2002 running with Windows XP), but
I was wondering if it is really an XP OS problem.
When I click on "Save As..." or "Insert..." or "Open..." I get a daughter
window. In the upper left, there is an area that one can browse for folders
using the pull-down arrow at the immediate right of the area that contains
the folder name. (This area might be labeled "Save as" or "Look in".)
When I click on the pull-down area, the application immediately freezes, and
I have to ctrl-alt-del the application and relaunch it to use the application
again. While I have been able to work around this issue by using other
commands in the daughter window, it is pretty inconvenient.
Does anyone have any insight into what I need to do to fix this? Thanks in
advance! Carol
